I started out tech blogging for the fun of it. I was having all these wonderful experiences with mobile phones and technologies, so I decided to share the information with others. And so it was that around 2003, I began to blog about these experiences.
When I decided to turn it into a business, I was no longer writing for humans only. I also had to begin to optimise my writing for search engines. Let’s just say that it ruined some of the fun.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed (and still enjoy) writing those exciting stories about cell phones, but when you are writing for the Web, for business, there are formats to fit into for best results.
Recently, I took a break from work, which means taking a break from writing. I narrated to a friend how I woke up one of those days and had the impulse to write. How I had to remind myself that I was on a break from work.
My friend said to me, “So, write for fun. Don’t write for work; write anything that comes to your head, write line, a journal or fiction, you need to give an expression to it”.
So, I came back here to my personal blog where I can write without a care about ranking for one keyword or the other. This is where I write strictly for the fun of it. No pressure, no formats, no SEO, just me writing for the sake of it, whether anyone reads it or not.
Indeed, it is therapeutic to just be able to put words out. It is like talking to a mute, invisible therapist.
