That time Steve Jobs talked about me

There is an Apple commercial from 1997 that has the following lines:

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently.

“They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo.

“You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.

“Because they change things. They push the human race forward.

“And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

The above quote is widely attributed to Steve Jobs. If he did say it, he was clearly talking about me. It feels good to be seen.

There is a reason why the tagline for my personal website reads, “Minimalist, Nonconformist, Iconoclast, Rebel”. I am everything that quote describes.

  1. No-one changes the world.

We still have madmen in power, ruling the world. We still have humans going to war for nonsensical reasons. We still have rapacity as it has always been. Wickedness is still as rampant as it has always happened from ages past , since medieval times.

    What exactly has changed.?
